PESS lauds Pakistan’s mediating role in ME conflict

Published on: April 23, 2026 2:17 AM

The Chief Organiser and Media Coordinator of Pakistan Ex-Servicemen Society, Aziz Ahmad Awan, on Wednesday said that Pakistan had played a constructive role in promoting peace and easing tensions between Iran and the United States. Addressing office-bearers of the society, he said Field Marshal Asim Munir had contributed towards efforts aimed at establishing peace, adding that the world was acknowledging Pakistan’s role in conflict resolution. He expressed hope that Pakistan would continue to play a successful role in promoting peace between the two countries in the coming days. Aziz said that Pakistan had always supported peace initiatives and its efforts were now being recognised globally. He also said the society would organize events on May 9 to highlight accountability over the incidents of that day, and would hold a seminar in Rawalpindi on May 10 to express solidarity with the armed forces. He added that the society paid tribute to the military leadership for its role in strengthening the country’s position and reaffirmed support for the armed forces. Aziz Awan further said that elections of the society would be held on schedule this year.
