
A fresh monsoon weather system has entered Pakistan, bringing the possibility of light to heavy rainfall across Lahore and most districts of Punjab. Authorities have stepped up preparedness measures as weather officials warned that the incoming spell could affect low-lying areas and disrupt normal daily activities in several parts of the province.
Moreover, the Pakistan Meteorological Department said sunshine and clouds are expected to alternate throughout the day in Lahore before light rain is likely after noon. The city’s minimum temperature was recorded at 31 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature is expected to reach 39 degrees Celsius during the day.

Meanwhile, the Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued an alert to all district administrations, directing them to complete precautionary arrangements in vulnerable and low-lying areas. Officials have been instructed to remain fully prepared to respond quickly to any emergency caused by heavy rainfall or water accumulation.
Furthermore, WASA Lahore Managing Director Ghufran Ahmed directed all operational staff to stay on high alert throughout the weather spell. He said officers and field teams would continue working until rainwater is completely cleared from roads, streets and flood-prone areas to minimise inconvenience for residents.

Authorities have also advised citizens to avoid unnecessary travel during periods of heavy rainfall and to follow the latest weather updates issued by relevant departments. Officials urged the public to remain cautious, especially in areas vulnerable to urban flooding, as coordinated efforts continue to reduce risks and ensure public safety throughout the monsoon season.
