Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei said repeated United States violations of the memorandum of understanding with Tehran had proved that President Donald Trump’s signature was “worthless” and lacked credibility. His remarks came as military exchanges between both countries intensified following the collapse of last week’s ceasefire, raising renewed fears of a wider regional conflict.

Moreover, Khamenei warned that the United States should recognise the determination of the Iranian nation and the “resistance front,” saying they had learned lasting lessons from recent events. His statement reflected Tehran’s increasingly firm stance as diplomatic efforts continued to weaken amid escalating military tensions across the region.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi announced that Tehran had suspended implementation of the memorandum of understanding with Washington. He said the decision followed repeated US violations of the agreement and continued actions that Iran viewed as breaches of commitments made during the negotiation process.

Furthermore, Gharibabadi stated that the United States was once again facing a response to its actions and emphasised that Iran’s immediate priority remained safeguarding the country’s national defence. He added that Tehran had entered negotiations in good faith, but repeated US actions had seriously damaged mutual confidence between both sides.
The latest developments highlight the deepening diplomatic crisis between Iran and the United States as military confrontations continue despite earlier efforts to reduce tensions. The suspension of the agreement and increasingly strong statements from Iranian leaders have further reduced hopes for an immediate return to meaningful dialogue and lasting regional stability.
