Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar spoke Sunday afternoon with Foreign Minister of Iran Abbas Araghchi.
He emphasized the need for continued dialogue and engagement as essential to resolving the current issues as soon as possible for promoting the peace and stability in the region and beyond. Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact and also concurred on a phone call between the President of Iran and the Prime Minister of Pakistan, later on Sunday.
Separately, Dar and Foreign Minister of Poland, Radoslaw Sikorski, Sunday, appreciating the positive momentum in Pakistan-Poland relations, reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
He also received a telephone call from his Polish counterpart, the Foreign Office spokesperson said in a press release. They also held an in-depth exchange of views on the current regional and global issues.
The Polish DPM/FM commended Pakistan’s efforts in facilitating a ceasefire between Iran and the United States and appreciated Pakistan’s continued commitment to dialogue and diplomacy in promoting peace and stability. He also invited DPM/FM Dar to visit Poland in June this year. Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar spoke with Canada’s Foreign Minister Anita Anand. They reviewed ongoing regional developments. FM Anand appreciated and expressed support for Pakistan’s continued efforts to advance sustained dialogue and constructive engagement between the parties. Both sides expressed hope for lasting peace and a durable ceasefire across the region, including in Lebanon, while reaffirming their commitment to broader stability and cooperation.
Moreover, Dar emphasised the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in addressing all issues in a call with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, the Foreign Office said.
In a statement, the FO says that FM Dar spoke with his Egyptian counterpart this evening. “They discussed key current developments in the regional situation, including the situation in the Gaza Strip,” it added.
During the call, FM Dar emphasised the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in addressing all issues, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to promoting peace, stability, and constructive engagement, it stated.
“Both leaders expressed hope for a successful next round of talks between Iran and the United States for achieving a durable peace in the region and beyond, and agreed to remain in contact,” the FO said.
