Under the new policy, any student found cheating will be permanently barred from appearing in future board examinations, while all examination papers of the accused candidates will be cancelled immediately. Officials described the move as part of efforts to eliminate malpractice from the education system.
The government also announced strict disciplinary action against examination staff involved in facilitating cheating. Invigilators, internal and external exam supervisors, or any administrative personnel found complicit will face termination of employment and departmental proceedings.
Authorities further stated that students caught carrying mobile phones or cheating material will be expelled from the examination hall on the spot. Enhanced monitoring systems will also be introduced across examination centres to ensure transparency and prevent any external interference.
The policy follows repeated complaints of paper leaks and cheating incidents during board examinations in various cities, which have raised concerns about the integrity of the assessment process.
Officials emphasised that reforms are necessary to ensure merit-based evaluation and to restore public confidence in the education system. They added that strict enforcement measures will be implemented across all examination boards under the provincial education framework.
