The absence of a confirmed PC release for Grand Theft Auto (GTA 6 ) has once again sparked debate among players, and newly leaked financial data may explain why PC users are being asked to wait. According to reports, a hacking group recently breached systems linked to Rockstar Games through a third-party vendor, gaining access to limited internal information. After their demands were ignored, parts of the data were allegedly released online.

Among the leaked material is revenue information related to Grand Theft Auto Online, which paints a clear picture of where Rockstar’s strongest market lies. The figures suggest that an overwhelming 97 percent of the game’s weekly revenue comes from console players, leaving PC with just over three percent of total earnings.

The breakdown shows that console platforms collectively generate around $8.1 million of the estimated $8.4 million in weekly revenue. By contrast, PC reportedly contributes roughly $264,000 per week, or about 3.1 percent. This imbalance highlights why the studio may continue to prioritise console launches before turning its attention to PC versions.
Rockstar has officially confirmed Grand Theft Auto 6 for current-generation consoles with a release date set for November 19, while remaining silent on any PC plans. This approach follows a familiar pattern. Grand Theft Auto V launched on consoles in September 2013, with its PC version arriving nearly 19 months later. Similarly, Red Dead Redemption 2 reached PC more than a year after its console debut.
Industry observers note that Rockstar often waits until console sales stabilise before announcing a PC port, sometimes revealing it just weeks before release. With reports suggesting development costs exceeding $2 billion, focusing first on the most profitable audience appears to be a calculated business decision.
