
Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has departed for the United States to participate in key international financial meetings hosted by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank.

The high-level meetings are scheduled to take place in Washington, D.C. from April 13 to 18, where the finance minister is expected to attend more than 50 sessions and bilateral engagements with global financial leaders and policymakers.

During his visit, Aurangzeb will meet senior officials from the IMF and World Bank, along with representatives of major international financial institutions and corporations. He is also scheduled to engage with US officials and hold discussions with counterparts from countries including China, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.
The finance minister will represent Pakistan at the G-24 forum and climate finance discussions, focusing on economic cooperation and development strategies. He is also expected to present Pakistan’s digital initiatives, including the Benazir Income Support Programme, during World Bank sessions.
In addition, Aurangzeb will participate in investment forums aimed at showcasing Pakistan’s economic potential and attracting foreign investment. A dedicated event on Roshan Digital Accounts is also planned as part of efforts to engage overseas Pakistanis.
Meetings with global credit rating agencies such as Fitch Ratings, Moody’s, and Standard & Poor’s are on the agenda, reflecting Pakistan’s focus on improving its financial outlook and credit profile.
The finance minister will also address leading think tanks, including the Atlantic Council, and interact with members of the US-Pakistan Business Council.

Officials say the visit underscores Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening economic diplomacy, enhancing international partnerships, and promoting sustainable growth through global engagement.
