
A high-level Iranian delegation has arrived in Islamabad to participate in anticipated negotiations with the United States, marking a significant diplomatic development in the region.

According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesperson, the Iranian delegation is led by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament. The delegation also includes Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, reflecting the high-level nature of the engagement.

The visiting delegation was received at the airport by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq was also present to welcome the dignitaries. In addition, Chief of Army Staff Syed Asim Munir, along with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, attended the reception, underscoring the importance Pakistan attaches to the visit.
Officials stated that the talks are expected to focus on easing tensions and exploring avenues for constructive engagement between Iran and the United States. Pakistan is playing a facilitating role by hosting the discussions in Islamabad, aiming to promote dialogue and regional stability.
Speaking on the occasion, Ishaq Dar expressed hope that both sides would approach the negotiations with a constructive mindset. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to supporting efforts for a sustainable and long-term resolution of disputes through diplomatic means.
