Sindh Senior Minister and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport, and Mass Transit, Sharjeel Inam Memon, has said that the Constitution of Pakistan 1973 is a symbol of the nation’s collective wisdom, democratic struggle, and federal unity. He said Constitution Day is a reminder of the resolve to uphold the supremacy of the Constitution and the law, as well as to protect the rights of the people.
In his message on the occasion of Constitution Day, he said that Shaheed Quaid-e-Awam Zulfikar Ali Bhutto gave the nation a unanimous Constitution, which continues to strengthen the democratic foundations of the country. He added that Shaheed Bhutto’s political vision, courageous leadership, and public service will always be remembered.
The Senior Minister said that, as a result of the efforts of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, democratic values were promoted in the country and state institutions were strengthened. He further said that President Asif Ali Zardari’s initiatives, including provincial autonomy and strengthening of Parliament, helped reinforce the federation.
He said that despite differences, there is a need to remain united for the protection of the Constitution, the strengthening of democracy, and the development of the country. He added that national unity and solidarity are the true outcome of the sacrifices of the martyrs and the guarantee of a stable Pakistan.
