
Iran has confirmed it will actively participate in the upcoming Islamabad talks while expressing deep mistrust of the United States. Iranian Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref said Tehran will engage fully in the negotiations despite concerns over Washington’s “deceptive nature.” The remarks highlight cautious diplomacy ahead of high-stakes discussions.
Aref praised Pakistan’s efforts in helping secure a temporary ceasefire between the United States and Iran. He said Islamabad played a constructive role in facilitating dialogue and reducing regional tensions. Iranian officials acknowledged the importance of Pakistan’s mediation efforts.

He added that Iran will attend the Islamabad talks with full authority and clear objectives. According to him, the aim is to translate military achievements into diplomatic gains. He said Iran’s position will be firmly presented during the negotiations.
The Iranian vice president also claimed that recent developments in the 40-day conflict proved miscalculations by adversaries. He described the war as a turning point for regional and global strategic shifts. He said Iran’s resolve led to political and security setbacks for its opponents.
