According to sources, US Vice President JD Vance will reach Islamabad later tonight, accompanied by senior officials including Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. The visit is part of Washington’s broader initiative to engage in direct negotiations with Iran.

Sources added that a 23-member advance team from the US, including security experts and support staff, has already arrived in Islamabad to facilitate the talks.

On the Iranian side, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi are also expected to land in Islamabad later tonight. Their visit signals Tehran’s willingness to participate in dialogue amid ongoing diplomatic efforts.

Earlier, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed that President Donald Trump is dispatching a negotiating team to Pakistan, led by Vice President Vance, to pursue talks with Iranian officials. The discussions are expected to begin on Saturday morning.
