According to officials, the Federal Investigation Agency has registered two cases against Abbasi concerning the alleged illegal clinic. She is also facing a separate money laundering case in which she had previously secured interim bail.
Earlier developments saw the Islamabad High Court restore Abbasi’s interim bail in the money laundering case, allowing her to approach the trial court for further proceedings. This relief came after her pre-arrest bail plea had been dismissed by the special judge due to her absence during a scheduled hearing.
In a written order, the court noted that Abbasi failed to appear despite the case being fixed for hearing and rejected her request for exemption on medical grounds. The judge termed the request a misuse of the concession of pre-arrest bail.
Following the dismissal, Abbasi moved the Islamabad High Court, which granted interim relief and directed her to seek remedy from the relevant trial court.
