A western weather system has entered Pakistan, bringing rainfall to parts of Balochistan and raising the likelihood of widespread precipitation across multiple regions, the Meteorological Department said.

Light rain has already been reported in Quetta and surrounding areas as the system moves eastward. Officials expect the weather pattern to remain active in upper parts of the country until April 9, potentially affecting a broad range of regions.
According to forecasts, rain is expected in Islamabad, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. In mountainous areas, snowfall is also anticipated, which could impact travel and daily activities in higher altitudes.
In southern regions, including Karachi, Thatta, Badin and Sujawal, light to moderate rainfall is expected. Meteorologists have also warned of the possibility of isolated hailstorms in some areas.
Authorities have advised residents to remain cautious, particularly in regions prone to urban flooding or landslides. Farmers have been encouraged to plan agricultural activities accordingly, as the rain could benefit crops but also pose risks in case of heavy downpours or hail.
