In his post, Zafar thanked God and all those who stood by him during what he described as one of the most difficult periods of his life. He stated that justice had finally been served but emphasized that he did not feel victorious. Instead, he expressed humility and gratitude, adding that he harboured no negative feelings toward anyone.

“For me, this chapter is now closed,” Zafar wrote, adding that he hopes everyone can move forward with dignity and peace. He further noted that he does not view the court’s decision as a moment of celebration but rather as an occasion for reflection and thankfulness.

Earlier this week, a Lahore court ruled in Zafar’s favour in the defamation case, ordering Meesha Shafi to pay Rs5 million in damages. According to court proceedings, Shafi did not appear during multiple hearings and was unable to provide sufficient evidence to substantiate her allegations. In contrast, Zafar presented his witnesses before the court, which ultimately contributed to the verdict.

The case dates back to 2018, when Shafi accused Zafar of harassment, sparking widespread debate and becoming one of Pakistan’s most high-profile cases associated with the global MeToo movement. The legal battle drew significant public attention and remained a focal point in discussions about harassment allegations and defamation laws in the country.

With the verdict now delivered, Zafar indicated his intention to move on, calling for reconciliation and a forward-looking approach from all parties involved.
