KARACHI – Karachi is expected to receive rain on April 2 and 3 as a westerly weather system approaches the region, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

In its latest forecast, the Met Office said the city will experience partly cloudy skies and relatively pleasant conditions over the next few days. However, a stronger weather system is likely to begin affecting the country from April 1, bringing rain and gusty winds to several areas, including parts of Sindh.
The PMD noted that the incoming system may trigger thunderstorms along with rainfall, though its exact intensity will be determined as it moves closer to the region. Meteorologists expect the system to influence upper and central parts of the country through April 5, with its effects gradually extending southwards.
Karachi is also likely to come under the influence of this system, with intermittent rain expected later in the week. The forecast has raised the possibility of brief spells of strong winds, which could impact traffic flow and daily routines in the city.
Authorities have advised residents to remain cautious during periods of heavy rain or thunderstorms, particularly in low-lying areas that are prone to water accumulation. Commuters are also urged to plan travel accordingly and stay updated with official weather advisories.
While the anticipated rainfall is expected to bring some relief from dry conditions, it may also pose challenges in terms of urban flooding and infrastructure strain if showers intensify.

The PMD continues to monitor the system closely and will issue further updates as conditions evolve, providing timely guidance to residents and authorities in Karachi and surrounding regions.
