At least two people were killed and two others injured when powerful winds and heavy rain triggered the collapse of a house roof near Lahore’s Badami Bagh area early Sunday.
According to details, the incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday when strong winds and intense rainfall lashed the Badami Bagh area, weakening the structure of a house and causing its roof to suddenly cave in, local media channels report.
Rescue officials informed that two people lost their lives on the spot, while two others sustained injuries and were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Emergency teams reached the scene promptly and launched a rescue operation, clearing the debris and ensuring no one else was trapped under the collapsed structure.
Three children die as roof collapses after heavy rain in Bannu
At least three children lost their lives and twoo sustained critical injuries when roof of a house collapsed during heavy rain in Warishmi Kallah Mandan area of Bannu distinct, police informed on Sunday.
Police said, the roof of a house owned by Sher Muhammad, suddenly caved in while his five children were inside the room.
All the children were trapped under the debris. Rescue 1122 teams responded promptly and launched an emergency operation.
Rescue workers managed to save two injured children alive and shifted them to the District Headquarters Hospital after providing initial medical aid. They are currently receiving treatment.
However, two daughters and one son of Sher Muhammad tragically lost their lives after being buried under the rubble. The rescue team shifted the bodies to the District Headquarters Hospital. The local residents reported that recent heavy rains have caused significant damage to mud houses in the area and urging the authorities to take immediate safety measures in affected regions.
