PSL 11: Peshawar Zalmi beat Rawalpindi by five wickets

Peshawar Zalmi defeated Rawalpindi Pindees by five wickets in the third match of PSL 11. The thrilling chase was completed in the final over, giving Zalmi a crucial win. Star performances from Babar Azam, Haris Rauf, and Yasir Khan powered the victory.

The match, played at Lahore’s Qaddafi Stadium, saw Rawalpindi captain Mohammad Rizwan win the toss and elect to bat first. The Pindees posted 214 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs. Openers Rizwan and Yasir Khan provided a strong start with impressive stroke play.

Yasir Khan scored 83 runs off 28 balls, hitting six sixes and six fours, while captain Rizwan contributed 41. Other key innings included Kamran Ghulam 37, Daryl Mitchell 23, and Sam Billings 18. Peshawar’s fast bowler Ali Raza took two wickets to try to restrict the total.

Chasing 215, Peshawar Zalmi achieved the target in the last over for the loss of five wickets. Haris scored 47 runs, Babar Azam made 39, Michael Bracewell added 35, and Abdul Samad contributed a quick 33 off 11 balls. The collective effort ensured a thrilling finish for the fans.

The victory keeps Peshawar Zalmi in strong contention in PSL 11, while Rawalpindi Pindees will look to bounce back in their upcoming fixtures. Fans praised the high-scoring encounter for the display of power-hitting and competitive spirit.
