Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar on Thursday said that the indirect talks between the United States and Iran were taking place through the messages being relayed by Pakistan.
“In reality, US-Iran indirect talks are taking place through messages being relayed by Pakistan,” the deputy prime minister wrote on his X timeline.
He said that there had heen unnecessary speculation in the media regarding peace talks to end the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
Deputy Prime Minister Dar said that the United States had shared 15 points, being deliberated upon by Iran.
He said that the brotherly countries of Turkiye and Egypt, among others, were also extending their support to this initiative.
“Pakistan remains fully committed to promoting peace and continues to make every effort to ensure stability in the region and beyond. Dialogue and Diplomacy is the only way forward,” the deputy prime minister remarked.
Separately, Dar spoke late Wednesday night with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on the latest regional developments.
The deputy PM underscored the importance of sustained diplomatic efforts for de-escalation and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace and regional stability.
Both sides agreed to remain in close contact, a press statement issued by the Foreign Office Spokesperson said on Thursday.
Moreover, Dar spoke with Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi.
The two counterparts discussed the prevailing regional situation and underscored the urgent need for de-escalation.
Deputy Prime Minister Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting all efforts in the interest of regional peace and stability.
Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact on evolving developments.
