
ISLAMABAD — Asif Ali Zardari has approved the conferment of military awards to 1,989 personnel of the Pakistan Armed Forces and Civil Armed Forces on the occasion of Pakistan Day. The decision was made on the recommendation of Shehbaz Sharif, in accordance with Article 259(2) of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 1973.

The awards include some of the country’s highest military distinctions. Among the recipients are 23 Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military), 100 Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military), 136 Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military), 11 Sitara-i-Basalat, 475 Tamgha-i-Basalat, and 130 Imtiazi Sanad.

Additionally, a significant number of personnel were recognized for their dedicated service. This includes 175 Tamgha-i-Khidmat (Military) Class-I, 319 Tamgha-i-Khidmat (Military) Class-II, and 620 Tamgha-i-Khidmat (Military) Class-III.
These awards acknowledge the exemplary courage, dedication, and service of Pakistan Armed Forces and civil armed personnel. The honours reflect the government’s commitment to recognising those who contribute to the nation’s defence, security, and public service.
