Israeli settlers attack 13 West Bank villages

Published on: March 24, 2026 1:18 AM

Occupied West Bank – Over the past two days, illegal Israeli settlers carried out coordinated attacks across 13 locations in the West Bank, injuring Palestinians and causing extensive property damage, according to Palestinian officials and eyewitness reports.

The Palestinian news agency Wafa said settlers launched simultaneous assaults since late Saturday, setting fire to homes and vehicles and throwing stones at Palestinian cars. The most severe attack occurred in al-Funduq near Jenin, where homes and vehicles were burned while residents tried to intervene.

In the northern Jordan Valley, settlers sprayed Palestinians with pepper spray in Ein al-Hilweh and threw stones at vehicles on roads near Ramallah, Nablus, Burin, Haris, and Tuqu. Early Sunday, three Palestinians were wounded in Jalud, where four vehicles and the village council building were set ablaze, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent.

In Bruqin, Salfit, three more Palestinians were injured when settlers threw stones at a vehicle. Further attacks in Deir Sharaf and Deir al-Hatab involved burning vehicles, property, and assaults on residents. The Red Crescent reported ten people wounded in Deir al-Hatab, including injuries from live fire, beating, smoke inhalation, and head trauma from stones.

Separately, settlers raided a secondary school in Hawara, south of Nablus, removing the Palestinian flag, raising the Israeli flag, and spray-painting racist slogans in Hebrew, an incident condemned by the Palestinian Ministry of Education as a violation of educational sanctity.

Data from February shows 511 settler attacks across the West Bank, resulting in seven Palestinian deaths. Since the Gaza war began on October 8, 2023, Israeli forces and settlers have killed 1,133 Palestinians, injured about 11,700, and arrested approximately 22,000.

In July 2024, the International Court of Justice declared Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory illegal and called for the evacuation of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
