The decision reflects growing pressure on energy resources, especially as household consumption rises ahead of the festive season.

Officials have made it clear that the closure will apply across the entire district, ensuring uniform implementation and preventing any unauthorized operation during the specified timeframe.

To enforce the decision, the district administration has imposed Section 144, a legal measure that restricts activities to maintain public order and compliance. Authorities have emphasized that this step is necessary to ensure strict adherence to the shutdown and avoid any disruption in gas distribution priorities.
Moreover, officials have warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone violating the directive. Offenders may face penalties under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which deals with non-compliance of government orders and can lead to fines or other legal consequences.

The administration explained that the temporary closure aims to prioritize gas supply for households, particularly as demand increases due to seasonal and daily usage patterns. By diverting available resources toward residential needs, authorities hope to maintain stability in supply and prevent shortages during critical hours.
Furthermore, officials have urged all stakeholders, including station owners and the general public, to fully cooperate with the directive. They stressed that strict monitoring will continue throughout the three-day period, ensuring compliance and reinforcing the importance of responsible energy use across the district.
