Pakistan conducts airstrikes on Afghan Taliban sites under Operation Ghazab Lil Haq

Published on: March 17, 2026 1:19 PM

Islamabad — Pakistan Armed Forces carried out precision airstrikes under Operation Ghazab Lil Haq on the night of March 16, targeting military installations of the Afghan Taliban regime in Kabul and Nangarhar, officials confirmed.

Attaullah Tarar, Minister for Information and Broadcasting, stated in a post on social media platform X that the strikes destroyed technical support infrastructure and ammunition storage facilities at two sites in Kabul. Secondary explosions observed after the attacks indicated the presence of large ammunition depots at the targeted locations.

In Nangarhar, Pakistani forces carried out strikes on four Afghan Taliban military sites, targeting logistics hubs, ammunition depots, and technical infrastructure linked to the regime’s terror activities. Tarar emphasized that the operation was conducted with precision, striking only facilities used to support multiple terror proxies, including Fitna Al Khawarij and Fitna Al Hindustan. Footage released by the ministry reportedly shows the targeted infrastructure and the effectiveness of the strikes.

The minister added that Taliban propaganda cannot hide the regime’s sponsorship of terrorism from Afghans or the international community. Operations under Ghazab Lil Haq will continue until the stated objectives of protecting Pakistani citizens from attacks by the so-called “Master Terror Proxy” are fully achieved.

The airstrikes were carried out in response to a cross-border mortar attack on civilian areas in Bajaur earlier on Monday. The attack damaged homes and resulted in the deaths of four civilians—brothers Sajid, Ayaz, Riaz, and Moaz—while critically injuring a five-year-old child. Local residents condemned the assault, describing it as deliberate and cowardly.

Minister Tarar said the attack was carried out in coordination with Fitna-ul-Khawarij and constitutes a serious violation of international law and fundamental human rights. Pakistani authorities reaffirmed their commitment to protecting civilians and retaliating against terror threats originating across the border.
