
Law enforcement agencies detained 17 Afghan nationals during a joint combing and search operation conducted in several neighborhoods of Rawalpindi. The operation took place in areas falling under the jurisdiction of Sadiqabad Police Station as authorities intensified action against individuals residing illegally in the city.
Police teams, along with other security agencies, launched the operation to verify the identities and legal status of suspicious individuals. During the search, officers checked documents and questioned residents to ensure compliance with immigration and residency regulations.

According to officials, the detained individuals were unable to produce valid documentation confirming their legal stay. As a result, authorities took them into custody and shifted them to the local police station for further verification and legal processing.
Subsequently, police recorded the personal information of all detainees and transferred them to a designated holding center. Officials stated that legal procedures will now determine the next course of action regarding their residency status.
