
On the International Day to Combat Islamophobia, Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed that Islam promotes peace, tolerance, and harmony for all humanity, urging the global community to take collective action against growing discrimination targeting Muslim communities worldwide.
The prime minister emphasized that the international community must confront prejudice and hatred against Muslims with unity and determination. He also welcomed the United Nations General Assembly resolution aimed at preventing Islamophobia, describing it as a crucial step toward discouraging discrimination and hateful narratives across societies.

Furthermore, Shehbaz Sharif stressed that intolerance toward fundamental religious freedoms weakens the core values of unity, equality, and mutual respect. He stated that responsible and civilized societies protect human rights without discrimination and instead promote tolerance, understanding, and coexistence among diverse communities.
The prime minister also reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong stance against all forms of Islamophobia, noting that both Islamic teachings and international law guarantee equal rights and dignity for every individual, regardless of faith, belief, or background.

Moreover, he said that associating Islam with extremist ideologies reflects blatant ignorance and distorts the religion’s true message. According to him, such narratives not only misrepresent Islam but also fuel unnecessary divisions and mistrust in global societies.
