China urged Pakistan and Afghanistan to move toward an immediate ceasefire. Beijing called on both sides to resolve their differences through dialogue. The appeal comes as tensions between the neighboring countries raise regional security concerns.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a telephone conversation with Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi, according to China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson. During the call, Wang stressed the importance of restraint and peaceful engagement between the two countries.

He said China’s special envoy for Afghan affairs is actively working to mediate between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The envoy aims to help both sides reduce tensions and create conditions for constructive dialogue.
China also urged the two countries to quickly begin bilateral negotiations. Beijing emphasized that disputes should be settled through talks rather than escalation. Officials expressed hope that both sides would avoid further tensions and demonstrate patience.

The spokesperson added that China remains committed to playing an active role in easing tensions. Beijing said it will continue diplomatic efforts to promote stability and cooperation between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
