
Pakistan Foreign Office has announced that Pakistan will maintain its current policy toward Afghanistan. The spokesperson said Islamabad’s approach remains unchanged despite recent developments. Pakistan continues to prioritize regional stability and security concerns in its Afghan policy.
The spokesperson noted that Pakistan had requested assurances from the Afghan Taliban that Afghan territory would not be used against Pakistan. However, these assurances were not fully provided. Officials stressed that Pakistan’s security remains a key priority in its Afghanistan policy.

He also clarified that a delegation visiting Afghanistan did so without the official permission of the Pakistani government. The Foreign Office said Islamabad was not involved in authorizing the trip, signaling strict control over diplomatic channels.
Regarding Iranian oil tankers, the spokesperson said the matter is between Iran and the relevant governments. Pakistan does not hold a specific position on these shipments. He also added that final confirmation about possible discussions over the Strait of Hormuz cannot yet be provided.
