LAHORE — Pakistani actor Mahira Khan has offered fans a rare peek into her current project, describing it as a “once in a lifetime kind of character.” Sharing a reflective Instagram carousel titled Tender Mercies, Khan documented quiet moments from life on set while hinting at the role she is currently filming.

The post features a photograph of a script with a rose resting on it, captioned: “Playing a once in a lifetime kind of character InshaAllah.” While she has not revealed the project’s title, the script shows the names Bilquis and Nazir, suggesting Bilquis may be Khan’s character and Nazir the male lead.

The carousel captures both intimate and candid moments, from Khan lying on the grass between scenes to journaling alone, reflecting on her experiences. One image highlights a home-style meal sent to her while on set, with Khan noting it is “generously and lovingly” provided because she misses home food.

Khan also shared images of herself in white shalwar kameez from her clothing brand M by Mahira, alongside flowers from friends and fans, candles she travels with, and a rediscovered childhood photograph. In a reflective moment, she posted a close-up of her face with sunlight casting shadows, writing: “Lines showing years on my face. A lot of living. Grateful,” paired with the practical reminder: “Note to self, drink more water.” The carousel concludes with a verse from the Holy Quran: “Then which of your Lord’s favours will you deny?”

Fans can next see Khan on the big screen opposite Fahad Mustafa in Aag Lagay Basti Mein, set to release this Eidul Fitr. The film promises comedy and chaos, featuring veteran actor Javed Sheikh and comedian Tabish Hashmi, with Mustafa returning to his popular brand of cinematic humor seen in hits like Na Maloom Afraad and Actor in Law.

For now, Khan seems content cherishing the smaller, tender moments that make her journey on set meaningful.
