BEIRUT: The Israeli military warned residents in large areas of Lebanon to evacuate as it plans intensified action against Hezbollah. The warning comes amid escalating attacks on Lebanese towns and cities, affecting thousands of civilians and increasing fears of wider regional conflict. Residents in southern Lebanon and Beirut’s southern suburbs are being urged to leave immediately for their safety.
Lebanon’s Health Ministry reported multiple casualties from the latest strikes. Three people were killed in Aramoun, near Beirut, while earlier attacks on Ramlet al-Baida claimed eight lives and injured 31. In southern Lebanon, four more people were killed in Deir Antar and Maarakah-Tyre, with six others wounded, the National News Agency confirmed.

The escalation follows several Hezbollah attacks on Israeli towns and military bases overnight. These included a drone strike on the Ya’ara barracks and missile strikes on the Glilot base near Tel Aviv and Atlit near Haifa. Israeli officials said these operations are in direct response to Hezbollah’s continued military activities.
The situation has sparked fears of a broader conflict in the region. International observers have called for restraint on both sides, warning that civilian casualties and infrastructure damage could further destabilize Lebanon. Humanitarian organizations are monitoring the situation closely as thousands of residents face displacement.
