The launch ceremony was led by Director Commercial Rabia Salma, alongside the airport manager and members of the commercial team. Officials emphasized that the new service eliminates the need for passengers to leave the airport in search of currency exchange services, providing a seamless experience for both domestic and international travelers.

The facility complements ongoing efforts to improve passenger services and infrastructure at Islamabad International Airport, which recently received a 3-star rating from the global airport ranking company Skytrax. Islamabad International became Pakistan’s first airport to achieve this rating, evaluated based on passenger amenities, operational management, and overall service quality.

Dubai International Airport also holds a 3-star ranking, while Lahore and Karachi airports maintained their 2-star ratings in the latest assessment. Officials from the Pakistan Airports Authority highlighted that the new currency exchange counter reflects Islamabad Airport’s commitment to international standards and improving the travel experience.

Passengers can now conveniently access local currency upon arrival, ensuring smoother transitions for business travelers, tourists, and returning citizens. The PAA stated that additional facilities and service upgrades are planned in the near future to further elevate the airport’s standards.
