Dues for TV channels approved, Tarar tells PFUJ delegation

Published on: March 11, 2026 12:57 AM

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Tuesday met a delegation of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) to discuss issues related to salaries and outstanding dues of journalists and media workers.

The minister informed the delegation that consultations had already been held with the Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA) regarding payments to media workers, adding that the dues of television channels had been approved.

He expressed confidence that the matter would reach a logical conclusion in the coming days, noting that media owners had assured payment of all outstanding dues before Eid.

The government, he said, would also honor its commitment to ensure timely relief for journalists.

Delegation members observed that timely disbursement of payments ahead of Eid would enable media workers to mark the festival with their families.

Members of the PFUJ delegation appreciated the steps taken by the minister. Tarar assured them that all issues would be resolved amicably.
