On Monday, police discovered a bullet-riddled body near Nursery Morr along the Bannu-Dera Ismail Khan section of the Indus Highway. The deceased, later identified as Tehseenullah, a resident of Paharkhel Thall, was found without identification. The body was transported to the district headquarters hospital for medico-legal formalities.

The discovery came a day after two other men, Sherdadullah and Mohammad Idrees, both from Nasarkhel, were found dead near Wanda Hajigul, also victims of gunfire. Police have registered separate cases in connection with these killings and are pursuing leads to identify the attackers.

Meanwhile, on Sunday night, a civilian was killed and a police constable injured when motorcyclists opened fire on a police patrol near the Phattak area in Serai Naurang town. A gunfight reportedly ensued between the assailants and law enforcement, and the injured constable was taken to the tehsil headquarters hospital for treatment.

In another incident, a policeman, Hanifullah, 24, and his cousin Hameedullah, 30, were shot in Kot Kashmir after a brawl between relatives of the attackers and the policeman’s family. The assailants also escaped with Hanifullah’s official rifle. Both victims were moved to Serai Naurang hospital, where authorities launched an investigation.

Separately, two young men, Irfanullah, 20, and Qismatullah, 22, were killed over a loan dispute in the Mir Alam Manjiwala area. A man reportedly opened fire with an AK-47, killing Irfanullah instantly. Qismatullah was seriously injured and died en route to the hospital. Police have registered a case and are seeking the gunman.

Authorities have vowed to intensify investigations and bring the perpetrators to justice amid growing concerns over escalating gun violence in the district.
