The Punjab Traffic Police have introduced a modern uniform and new technology to improve their service and public image. The initiative aims to make officers more professional, comfortable, and easily identifiable while performing their duties. As part of this step, Punjab Traffic Police new uniform has been introduced along with body cameras and electric vehicles to support officers in the field and increase transparency.
According to officials, the new uniform is designed for comfort and safety so officers can perform their duties in different weather conditions. The uniform includes a white shirt with dark blue trousers, while bright colours and light reflectors have been added so that officers can be clearly seen on the road, especially during night duty or in heavy traffic.
Traffic officers and field personnel will wear peak caps, while office staff will use beret caps. During the summer season, field officers will wear reflector jackets for visibility, while in winter they will use dark blue sweaters. Office-based staff will wear pant coats with ties to maintain a professional look.
The same uniform style has also been introduced for female traffic police officers, with only a slight difference in the design of the hat. A lady traffic officer welcomed the decision and described it as a positive step that will improve the working environment and overall image of the department.
Along with the uniform changes, eco-friendly electric vehicles have also been provided to traffic police units. These vehicles are equipped with CCTV cameras and screens installed in front of the driver to assist in monitoring traffic. Officials believe these steps will improve transparency, strengthen public trust, and highlight the positive impact of the Punjab Traffic Police new uniform initiative.
