A school building in Minab, southern Iran, may have been hit during a US strike, a report said. The attack reportedly killed 175 students, making it the deadliest civilian incident in recent strikes. The development raises serious questions about civilian safety during military operations.
According to a report by The New York Times, satellite images and verified videos suggest the school was deliberately struck. Social media posts and visual evidence show severe damage to the building. However, no country has officially claimed responsibility for the attack.

The strike occurred on February 28 when nearby military sites were also targeted. Reports indicate that a naval base run by Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps was under attack at the same time. The school was located close to the base in the coastal region.
The report noted that US officials earlier acknowledged strikes on naval targets near the Strait of Hormuz. This disclosure increased speculation that the school strike could be linked to the same military operation. Investigators are reviewing evidence to determine whether the attack was intentional or accidental.

Satellite analysis also revealed that the building was once part of the naval base in 2013. However, it was separated from the facility in 2016 and later used as a school. Images show a playground and recreational facilities, indicating the structure functioned as an educational institution.
