Bangladesh A dominates Pakistan A in Women’s Asia Cup

Published on: February 20, 2026 4:30 PM

Bangladesh A convincingly defeated Pakistan A by 54 runs in the semi-final of the ACC Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2026 at Bangkok’s Terdthai Cricket Ground, setting up a thrilling final. Chasing a modest target of 111, Pakistan A struggled throughout and were bowled out for just 56, failing to establish any momentum in their run chase against disciplined bowling.

Pakistan A’s batting line-up faltered, with eight players unable to reach double figures. Opener Shawaal Zulfiqar top-scored with 14 off 17 balls, including a six, while captain Hafsa Khalid contributed 12 runs and Yusra Amir added 11, showing limited resistance. Bangladesh’s bowlers maintained pressure consistently, not allowing partnerships to build and restricting scoring opportunities effectively.

Sanjida Akter Meghla led the bowling attack with a brilliant performance, taking 3 wickets for just 6 runs in 3.4 overs, supported by Fahima Khatun with two wickets. Fariha Trisna, Fatema Jahan, and Farjana Easmin claimed one wicket each, ensuring Pakistan A never gained control of the innings.

Batting first, Bangladesh A posted 110-8 in their allotted 20 overs, with captain Fahima Khatun anchoring the innings with an unbeaten 40 off 32 balls, including five boundaries. Her innings provided stability and guided the team to a competitive total despite limited support from other batters.

Openers Ishma Tanjim and Shamima Sultana contributed 12 and 13 runs respectively, while Sarmin Sultana added 15. Apart from Fahima, the remaining batters made minimal impact as wickets fell at regular intervals, demonstrating Bangladesh’s reliance on their captain for momentum.

For Pakistan A, Hafsa Khalid was the standout bowler, finishing with figures of 2 for 25 in four overs. She was supported by Omaima Sohail, Anosha Nasir, Momina Riasat, and Waheeda Akhtar, who each claimed one wicket, but their efforts could not prevent Bangladesh from securing a commanding semi-final victory.
