President calls for unity to overcome national crises

President Asif Ali Zardari called on Pakistanis to unite against extremism and economic challenges, urging collective effort and strong leadership. Speaking at a Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) meeting at Bilawal House in Lahore, he stressed political dialogue, flexibility, and patience to address the country’s pressing issues. Zardari emphasized that democracy remains the strongest source of justice and national harmony.

Addressing PPP leaders, Zardari highlighted the importance of economic stability and strengthening agriculture as key pillars of national development. He stressed that protecting sovereignty, integrity, and security has always been central to the party’s policies. Party workers were urged to engage in constructive politics to help overcome financial and political pressures.

Referencing the legacies of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto, Zardari reaffirmed the PPP’s commitment to counter threats from both internal and external enemies. He assured that Pakistan would defeat extremism and terrorism through unity and coordination with the armed forces.

Zardari urged citizens and party workers to maintain patience, focus on continuous effort, and contribute to political solutions for the nation’s challenges. He stressed that democratic governance and national unity are essential to sustain Pakistan’s stability. The president’s remarks framed unity as a core tool to overcome both economic and security challenges.

The Lahore session brought together local and provincial PPP leadership to discuss strategies for addressing political, economic, and social challenges. Zardari concluded that collective action, steadfast leadership, and adherence to democratic principles are vital for safeguarding Pakistan’s future.
