Karachi ramadan timetable; fasting hours for worshippers

Published on: February 18, 2026 3:44 PM

As the holy month of Ramadan 2026 approaches, Muslims across Karachi are preparing for a period of fasting, prayer, and spiritual reflection. This year, fasting will begin on February 19 and continue until March 20, subject to official moon sighting confirmation by religious authorities.

According to the official schedule, the first fast will start with Sehri at 5:47 am and conclude with Iftar at 6:28 pm, making the initial fasting duration 12 hours and 41 minutes. Gradually, the fasting period will extend, reaching 13 hours and 23 minutes by the final day of Ramadan.

Meanwhile, Sehri timings will shift earlier each day, while Iftar will move later into the evening, resulting in noticeably longer fasting hours. This gradual change reflects the seasonal movement of daylight, which will especially affect worshippers during the final Ashra of the holy month.

Religious scholars advise residents to plan their daily routines carefully, focusing on balanced meals, hydration, and adequate rest to maintain energy levels. Additionally, mosques across the city are expected to host extended Taraweeh prayers and community iftar arrangements.

Despite the fixed schedule, believers are reminded that the final start and end dates depend entirely on moon sighting. Therefore, official announcements should always be followed for accurate religious observance and fasting confirmation.
