
KARACHI: A fire broke out at a chemical factory in Karachi’s SITE Industrial Area on Tuesday, prompting an immediate response from emergency services, officials said. Rescue 1122 confirmed that the incident occurred near Valika Chowrangi and that teams were actively working to bring the blaze under control.

“A fire brigade truck, along with rescue teams, was immediately dispatched to the site as soon as we received the report,” said a Rescue 1122 spokesperson. The Sindh Rangers also deployed personnel to assist in relief and rescue operations, coordinating with firefighters and rescue staff.
Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab took notice of the fire and directed all departments of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) to remain alert. In a post on X, he said, “KMC fire team is attending to the fire incident reported at a factory in SITE Industrial Area. Will keep everyone posted.” He added that water board authorities were instructed to take emergency measures and emphasized that “there will be no compromise made on the safety of human lives.”

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah also instructed Mayor Wahab and the city commissioner to closely supervise the rescue operations and investigate the cause of the fire. Authorities are using all available resources to control the blaze and ensure the safety of nearby residents and workers.
This chemical factory fire comes just a day after another large fire broke out in the bushes near the University of Karachi (KU), which was eventually brought under control. Officials have urged caution and reinforced the need for emergency preparedness in industrial areas, highlighting the risks posed by chemical and flammable materials.

No casualties or injuries have been reported so far, but authorities continue to monitor the situation closely. Rescue teams remain on-site, prioritizing both containment of the fire and the safety of personnel working in the area.
