Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali Ejaz, chairing a meeting at his office on Saturday, reviewed the progress of the ongoing anti-polio vaccination campaign in the district in line with CM Punjab Maryam’s “Zero Polio” vision. The meeting was attended by SSP Operations, Chief Executive Officer Health, all Assistant Commissioners, DDHOs and representatives of the WHO. The participants reviewed the overall performance of the five-day polio campaign across Lahore. Briefing the meeting, CEO Health Dr Asif Arbab Khan Niazi informed that by the fifth day of the campaign, more than 2.1 million children had been vaccinated, achieving 94 percent of the target. He said vaccination teams were continuing efforts to cover remaining children during catch-up days. WHO representatives expressed satisfaction over the performance of field teams and the implementation of the campaign, appreciating coordination among health and administrative departments. Presiding over the meeting, DC Muhammad Ali Ejaz directed all DDHOs to ensure their presence in the field and maintain strict monitoring to improve coverage and accountability.
