Published on: February 7, 2026 1:18 AM

Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Aalia Neelum inaugurated the newly constructed two-storey building of Additional District and Sessions Judges’ courts during her visit to Sialkot on Friday. LHC Registrar Amjad Iqbal Ranjha accompanied her.

District & Sessions Judge Nadeem Tahir Syed, Deputy Commissioner Saba Asghar Ali and acting DPO Haseeb Raja received the LHC chief justice.

The ceremony was attended by judicial officers, including Additional District & Sessions Judges, senior civil judges and civil judges. Punjab Bar Council members Raza Subhani and Saeed Ahmed Bhali, bar representatives and senior lawyers were also present, while a Punjab Police contingent presented a guard of honour.

The CJ inspected the new facility and was briefed on its features. She said protection of citizens’ rights, provision of timely justice and judicial reforms were top priorities, adding that modern court facilities would help ensure speedy disposal of cases and strengthen public trust in the judiciary.

According to the briefing, the complex has been built on 12 kanals and 8 marlas of land at a cost of Rs. 259.6 million. It houses courtrooms, a daycare centre, an Alternative Dispute Resolution Centre and a dispensary. The foundation stone of the project was laid in 2022.
