The crescent moon is expected to be visible on February 18, with favorable sighting conditions in Karachi. PMD said the prediction is based on lunar calculations and local weather patterns.
According to the forecast, the moon will be born on February 17 at 5:01 pm. By February 18, its age will reach around 26 hours in Karachi, improving visibility. Experts said the crescent must be at least 19 hours old for confirmation.

The sun will set at 6:25 pm, while the moon will set at 7:24 pm, further supporting sighting chances. Meteorologists added that skies will be partly cloudy in most areas but mostly clear in major cities.
Authorities and religious organizations are expected to monitor the sky on February 18. Moon-sighting committees will confirm the first day of Ramadan after careful observation. This ensures a unified start of fasting across the country.
