The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) on Monday submitted its report to the Islamabad High Court (IHC) regarding the implementation of the Motor Vehicle Ordinance in federal capital.
The report said that only 4 sub-inspectors, 6 assistant sub-inspectors, 10 constables and a mechanic of the traffic police are on duty in Islamabad at night. It said that 22 officials on night duty only patrol from 10 pm to 7 am. Justice Inaam Ameen Minhas, hearing the case, directed to provide traffic police report to the petitioner’s lawyer.
Lawyer petitioner Qaiser Abbas Gondal appeared in court while Federal Police DSP Legal Sajid Cheema submitted the traffic police report.
Traffic police report also mentions the old traffic office at sector F-8. It said that the ITP never claimed ownership or possession of the place between F-8 and 9th Avenue.
The said place is at green belt and is reserved for public purposes, it said. The ITP said that no trees or plants were cut from the site.
