A mysterious illness has claimed the lives of four children within a single week in Gandaf village of Swabi district, triggering fear and concern among local residents.
According to reports on Monday, the deceased children include three-month-old Muhammad Owais, two-year-old Abu Zar Umar, nine-month-old Umar Khan and five-year-old Abu Huraira. All the deaths occurred over the past week, alarming families in the area.
Local residents believe the deaths may have been caused by a measles outbreak. They reported that the affected children developed high fever, rashes on the body and severe weakness, after which their condition rapidly deteriorated.
Residents have expressed serious concern over the lack of timely medical intervention, warning that if immediate preventive measures are not taken, the disease could spread further in the area.
Health authorities have yet to issue an official statement confirming the cause of the illness, while locals are urging the government to conduct an urgent investigation and launch emergency medical and vaccination efforts to prevent further loss of life.
