Deputy Commissioner Murree Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi has instructed that the benefits of government agricultural schemes be delivered directly to farmers, emphasizing transparency and effective implementation.
The directive was given in a meeting on agriculture and ongoing development projects, chaired by the Deputy Commissioner.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Umar Owais Kiani and officers from the Agriculture Department were present.
During the meeting, officials highlighted public welfare initiatives launched by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, focusing on farmer support and crop protection schemes. Discussions included the fencing scheme, provision of agricultural facilities, challenges faced by farmers, and measures being taken to address them. Deputy Commissioner Shirazi stressed that farmers are the backbone of the economy and their welfare remains a top priority for the district administration. He instructed officials to provide guidance to farmers, simplify application processes, and conduct awareness campaigns so that maximum beneficiaries can access the schemes. The Murree district administration continues to take proactive steps to promote agriculture and improve farmers’ livelihoods, in line with the Punjab government’s vision.
