
World Bank Group President Ajay Banga, accompanied by a delegation, visited the historic Sikh holy site, Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Hasan Abdal, marking the beginning of his four-day official visit to Pakistan.
Upon arrival, Banga was warmly welcomed by the District Police Officer and the Deputy Commissioner of Attock, highlighting the significance of his visit and the high-level coordination provided by local authorities.

During the visit, Banga paid his respects at the gurdwara, participated in religious rituals, and engaged in the langar at the gurdwara’s communal dining hall, appreciating the arrangements and hospitality of the Sikh community.
In a symbolic gesture, the local Sikh community presented Ajay Banga with a traditional siropa, reflecting respect and recognition for his presence at the sacred site and strengthening cultural ties during the visit.

Federal Minister for Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb and Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs Ramesh Singh Arora accompanied Banga, emphasizing the government’s support for interfaith engagement and the importance of highlighting Pakistan’s cultural and religious heritage.
The visit also underscored Pakistan’s commitment to fostering international cooperation, with Banga expected to discuss economic reforms, development initiatives, and investment priorities in meetings with national leadership later in his four-day trip.
