The Pakistan Goods Transport Alliance has announced a 4 percent increase in transport fares after a sharp rise in petroleum prices, directly impacting goods movement and overall market costs nationwide.
Transport alliance leadership criticized the recent fuel price hike, stating that higher diesel rates leave transporters with no option but to pass costs forward, affecting businesses and consumers alike.

They also expressed concern that repeated fuel price increases place severe financial pressure on transporters, while earlier assurances of price relief made during a recent strike remain unfulfilled.
Moreover, the alliance claimed that agreements reached with both federal and Punjab authorities on key issues have not been implemented, adding to growing frustration within the transport sector.
