
Lahore police have ordered owners of rooftops used for Basant celebrations to submit surety bonds, aiming to enforce safety rules and prevent accidents during the upcoming festival.
The directive was issued during a high-level meeting reviewing security arrangements, where authorities focused on ensuring peaceful celebrations through strict compliance with approved safety procedures.

Police officials made it clear that overcrowding on rooftops will not be allowed, while the Punjab Regulation of Kite Flying Act 2025 will be enforced without exception across the city.
Meanwhile, authorities announced that motorcycles without safety rods will not be permitted on roads, and special police teams have been formed to monitor Basant activities effectively.

Officials also warned of zero tolerance for aerial firing and weapon display, adding that firm action will be taken against violators to ensure safe and orderly celebrations.
