
A 17-member Australian squad has arrived in Pakistan ahead of the highly anticipated Pak vs AUS T20I series, set to take place in Lahore. The visiting team landed at Allama Iqbal International Airport on Wednesday, marking the start of Australia’s short tour for the three-match series.

According to team officials, the Australian players will observe a rest day following their arrival to recover from travel before the opening fixture. The first T20 international of the series will be played on Thursday at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
All three matches of the Pak vs AUS T20I series are scheduled to be held at Gaddafi Stadium on January 29 and 31, and February 1. Each match will begin at 6:00pm Pakistan Standard Time, with fans expected to turn out in large numbers for the marquee contest.

The series holds significant importance for both sides as they continue preparations for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. With limited time remaining before the global tournament, the matches will offer both teams an opportunity to test combinations, assess player form and fine-tune strategies in competitive conditions.

Pakistan have named a balanced squad featuring a mix of experienced campaigners and young talent. Salman Ali Agha will lead the side, supported by senior players including Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Shadab Khan. The squad also includes emerging players such as Saim Ayub and Sahibzada Farhan, while Naseem Shah and Abrar Ahmed bolster the bowling attack.
The Pakistan team will be backed by a full support staff, including head coach Mike Hesson, bowling coach Ashley Noffke and fielding coach Shane McDermott. Officials say security and logistical arrangements have been finalised to ensure a smooth and successful series.
