Bilateral trade between Pakistan and Malaysia currently stands at around 1.4 billion dollars a year, showing a solid base for further growth. Recently, both countries also agreed on a new 200 million dollar halal meat trade quota, which is expected to significantly raise food exports and create new market links.
Malaysia’s main exports to Pakistan include palm oil, machinery, rubber products, and organic chemicals, while Pakistan supplies rice, textiles, seafood, and minerals to the Malaysian market. This balanced trade mix highlights how both economies complement each other, making cooperation more beneficial for long-term growth.

Furthermore, both countries continue to trade under the Malaysia-Pakistan Closer Economic Partnership Agreement, which has been in place since 2008 and offers preferential market access for goods and services. This agreement reduces tariffs and improves market entry, making it easier for businesses to expand across borders.
Pakistan is also rapidly developing its halal food, green energy, and tourism industries, which are now attracting global interest. By working closely with Malaysia, Pakistan aims to increase exports, bring in investment, and promote its natural beauty, cultural heritage, and Shariah-compliant products worldwide.
