
Iran thanked Pakistan for strong support at the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva. Tehran praised Islamabad for calling a vote and opposing a resolution targeting Iran. Officials described the move as historic and principled.
The message came during a telephone call between Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar. Both leaders also exchanged views on regional and international developments. Meanwhile, Iran’s ambassador in Pakistan shared similar gratitude publicly.

Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam thanked Pakistan for voting against what he called an unjustified resolution. He said Pakistan’s stance marked a third defeat of politically motivated actions against Iran. He added the support reflected respect for sovereignty, justice, and multilateralism.

At the UNHRC session, Pakistan said it would always remain a friend to Iran and its people. It recalled Iran’s early recognition of Pakistan and highlighted shared cultural and religious ties. Pakistan said recent unrest in Iran was a matter of serious concern.

Pakistan welcomed the end of violence and Iran’s commitment to due legal process. It stressed peace as the best safeguard for human rights and regional stability. Pakistan also said sanctions and external interference worsen suffering and rights conditions.
