Pakistan’s national cricketers fell victim to a massive fraud, losing nearly 88 crore rupees collectively. One former player lost around 90 crore. The scam involved a businessperson who disappeared after duping the players and an agent.
The fraud reportedly targeted current and former national players, including captains, who invested in a business venture under the guidance of a former team leader. Initially, investors received unusually high returns, which encouraged more investment. However, the businessman suddenly vanished, leaving players unable to recover their funds despite repeated attempts to contact him.

Sources reveal the fraudster is now based in the United States and had personal connections with several cricketers. Players tried contacting him for weeks, and a few received partial refunds. For the last two months, no payments or communication have occurred, increasing fears among the affected players.
The Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Mohsin Naqvi contacted the affected players and assured full support in recovering their lost money. The players expressed satisfaction with the PCB’s intervention and hope for a resolution soon. No formal complaint had been lodged before the PCB’s outreach, highlighting the players’ trust in internal assistance.
